Morgan Sindall Growth Story

About the project

Jeremy supported the successful rejuvenation of the Northern Home Counties business unit of Morgan Sindall Construction

The Challenge

The business unit had dwindled down to £23m turnover on a baseline of small projects where it should easily have been £100m+ with a good mix of projects types across a range of values and sectors. Jeremy was invited to join a new senior leadership team to drive forward a rejuvenation of the business.

The Solution

A maturity benchmarking exercise defined a need to create a new focused ecosystem of aligned growth plans and initiatives.

Jeremy led the development of new detailed market research to inform a new business plan and playbook for sustainable growth. The playbook defined a programme of five new key account plans, five new capture plans for the top five pursuits, supported by an integrated account based marketing and events plan. Jeremy also trained the bid team in bid writing and presentation skills.

The Result

Our commission drew to a close in June 2020 having surpassed all our target metrics. We leave the business with a reinvigorated robust long term pipeline of work with appropriate clients. The business unit quadrupled in turnover and margin, with an unrivalled pipeline of work and high win rates, dominant in the local market.

“Jeremy was an invaluable member of the senior team in rejuvenating our business unit . He has played a significant role in the growth of the Northern Home Counties business, working alongside the senior team in securing some long term relationships and developing our offering for programmes of work with valued clients.”
