Coast to Capital

About the project

Supporting a public sector quango in developing its approach to acquiring new funding and work with other public bodies

The Challenge

Coast to Capital are an ex-Local Authority Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) organisation. They were tasked with removing their reliance on public sector funding and targeted with winning their own consulting work with local government and other public and private sector clients.

The Solution

Jeremy Brim undertook a maturity benchmarking conversation with them and reviewed previous bid submissions to establish their baseline. He made recommendations on how to shape their approach to growth end-to-end and then deployed training on pursuit and bidding for opportunities as the first step in their journey.

The Result

Their board have now recognised the need for appropriate market research to inform a robust targeted business plan and playbook for growth, accelerating the pursuit of good opportunities with clients with good fit and reducing wasted effort

Everyone who touches bids now deeply understands a single agreed bid process and approach. This includes clear roles and responsibilities, appropriate strategy development, storyboarding, drafting and review cycles to improve quality scores dramatically.

We received an independent customer experience feedback score of 5/5 from a senior attendee on the course.

Jeremy was really engaging and provided valuable insight and knowledge into successful bid writing, and processes for a start up consultancy. The team are now really motivated to get going and are excited to work on our next few bids.”

— Marsha Robert, Head of Partnerships, Coast to Capital LEP
